Fishing in rivers and ponds

Fly-fishing or angling, along the Ourthe or the Laval, alone or with friends, come and discover the numerous fishing possibilities in the heart of the Ardennes.

Rivers and lakes for the keen on « fario trouts ».

Sainte-Ode has two rivers : the Ourthe and the Laval. If you like fishing, this will be the occasion to discover a wild and enchanting nature.
For those who prefer to leave the river banks to others, you'll be able to appreciate the pleasure of fishing in a pond. Possibility to hire a pond for a half-day or a full day. Also benefit from special additions of fish on certain days.

A fishing guidebook is available to all at the local tourist office.

Whatever your choice, various fishing associations will give you advice on the spot (see below).

The fishing license

To fish in public waters in the Walloon region, you need at least to acquire a fishing permit delivered in post offices of the region.
The license is individual and valid for the currant year.

  • A permit authorizes fishing with one or two lines from the river bank.
  • B permit authorizes fishing with one or two lines, from the river bank or otherwise (walking on the river bed or in a boat)
